THREAD VEINS
Almost all of us will suffer from thread veins in our lives, these small red are harmless but can have a very ageing and unsightly effect on the skin. They are most often found on the face, back and legs are commonly referred to as spider veins, red veins or thread veins.

There is no known cause for Thread Veins although as the skin ages and thins they become more visible, sun damage, hormones, high blood pressure and smoking can all worsen the condition.

Spider veins and rosacea are very similar.In fact, rosacea is a type of spider vein. However, they each have entirely different causes, as spider veins are often affected by lifestyle choices, whereas rosacea is determined by what genes you inherited. Rosacea is a long-term skin condition that mainly affects the face. It's more common in women and people with lighter skin, but symptoms can be worse in men. Laser treatment can help with symptoms.

The first signs of rosacea include:

redness (blushing) across your nose, cheeks, forehead and chin that comes and goes

a burning or stinging feeling when using water or skincare products. The redness may be harder to see on darker skin.

Other symptoms can include:

dry skin

swelling, especially around the eyes

yellow-orange patches on the skin

sore eyelids or crusts around roots of eyelashes – this could be blepharitis

thickened skin, mainly on the nose (usually appears after many years)

It's not known what causes rosacea, but some triggers can make symptoms worse. Common triggers for rosacea include:alcohol
